But, before the official launch of the app, many apps named Co-WIN are appearing on the Google Play Store. A warning has been issued by the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan. He said do not download the Co-WIN apps on Google Play Store. These are fake apps that can steal your personal information.
Some apps named "#CoWIN" apparently created by unscrupulous elements to sound similar to upcoming official platform of Government, are on Appstores.

He said on social media that the government has not yet launched the official Co-WIN app. In such a situation, do not download any app of this name. It will be informed when launching the app.
What is a Co-WIN app?
The Union Health Ministry has designed the Co-WIN app for vaccination. This will help in real time monitoring of vaccine delivery. Through the app, the government will be able to protect the data of the people who have been vaccinated. People will be vaccinated only after registering on this app.
Co-WIN (Covid-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network) is an upgraded version of eVIN (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network). After the completion of the application, it will be made available for free to users on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Co-Win App registration process
People will not be able to install the app at the moment, but after launching, its registration process will be something like this ..
Step 1: Photo and ID will be required for self-registration on the official website of Co-WIN.
Step 2: Voters will be able to use ID, Aadhaar card, driving license, passport and pension document in the ID.
Step 3: During registration your mobile number will also have to be given.
Step 4: The date, time and place of vaccination will be given through SMS as soon as registration is done.
There will be vaccination in 3 phases Through Co-Win App registration
The Health Ministry has clarified that the corona vaccine will be administered to people in 3 phases. These include all frontline healthcare professionals in the first phase. The second phase includes people associated with emergency services. Eventually people with serious conditions will be vaccinated.
SMS will be sent in 12 languages
SMS will be sent in 12 languages to inform people waiting for vaccination. A QR code certificate will also be available by placing the vaccine, which can be stored and stored in the mobile. The government’s document storage app ‘DigiLocker’ can be integrated to store QR code based certificates. Along with this, 24 × 7 facility will also be available.
5 modules in Co-WIN app
With this app, the process of vaccination will act as a platform for administrative activities, immunization workers and people who are vaccinated. It has 5 modules. Including Administrative Module, Registration Module, Vaccination Module, Benefit Approval Module and Report Module.
1: Administrative Module– People who will conduct the vaccination event. Through this module, they can decide the session, through which people and managers will get information through notifications to get vaccinated.
2: Registration module – It will be for those who get themselves registered for the vaccination program.
3: Vaccination module – It will verify the information of those who will register themselves for vaccination and update the status of this.
4: Beneficial Approval Module- Through this, messages will be sent to the beneficiaries of vaccination. This will also generate a QR code and people will also get an e-certificate to get the vaccine.
5: Report Module – Through this, reports related to the vaccination program will be generated. Like, how many sessions were vaccinated, how many people got vaccinated, how many people did not get vaccinated despite registration etc.
Medical and frontline workers do not need registration
The government said that data of health workers and medical frontline workers are being uploaded on the Co-WIN app. These people will not need registration. The government has rehearsed several times at different levels to check the software of the app. More than 90 thousand people have been informed about the use of the software in 700 districts.
