5: Nissan India
Nissan India has announced that the company has sold 4,244 units in February 2021. The company’s major contribution to its sales goes to the recently launched Nissan Magnite. The carmaker has received over 40,000 bookings for the sub-4 meter SUV. Nissan currently has three vehicles in its Indian product portfolio – Magnite, Kicks and GT-R.
4: MG Motors
British automaker MG registered a sale of 4,329 units last month. Which is the highest number of monthly sales of the company till now. In the previous month, MG cell sales have registered a growth of 215 percent as compared to February 2020. The British carmaker recorded this increase due to strong demand for Hector facelift. However, new variants of Hector Plus and EV ZS have also been launched.
3: Hyundai India
Hyundai Motor India Limited reported that the company recorded sales of 61,800 units in February. Which has recorded a growth of 26.4 percent compared to February 2020. HMIL said in a statement that the company had sold 48,910 units in the same month last year. The company said domestic sales grew by 29 percent to 51,600 units in February 2020 from 40,010 units. Exports in February increased by 14.6 percent to 10, 200 units.
2: Maruti Suzuki
India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki registered a growth of 8.3 percent in the month of February. The company sold 1,44,761 units last month as compared to 1,33,702 units in February 2020. Cars like Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Celerio were included in the list of vehicles sold by the company. Which has registered a growth of 15.3 percent in the previous February 2021 as compared to February 2020. At the same time, according to the report, Maruti Suzuki has recorded an annual growth of 18.9 percent in the SUV segment. However, sales of entry-level vehicles and flagship sedans have declined.
1: Toyota India
Japanese carmaker Toyota also recorded a 36 percent increase in sales in the last month. The company sold 10,352 units in February 2020. Which in February 2021 stood at 14,075 units. The company recently launched cars such as the Innova Crysta facelift and Fortuner facelift and Fortuner Legander among the vehicles sold by it. At the same time, the sales of urban cruisers have been higher in February.
