What is Play Store?
Google Play or Play Store is a platform operated by Google. It serves as the official App Store for the Android operating system, which allows users to download applications. Google Play also serves as an offering for music, magazines, books, films and television programs. The application provided by Google Play is free or at a fixed price.
Google Play was launched on 6 March 2012 with the merger of Android Market, Google Music, and Google e-Booksstore. More than 1,430,000 apps are published on Google Play store and more than fifty billion downloads have been done.
What did Union Minister Ravi Shankar said?
Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told via Twitter that he liked the suggestion of Indian app developers. He said that Indian app developers should be encouraged to develop the Atmanibhar Bharat App Ecosystem.
A home store is already available
However, there is already a home-grown app store on which currently only government apps like Umang, Arogya Setu and DigiLocker are available. If we believe the news, then it can be expanded to start. According to sources, along with the Google Play store in the phone, the Optional App Store also gets pre-loaded, for this it is necessary that a policy should be made for the smartphone maker companies.
Why Google removed Paytm from Play Store, recently?
Let us tell you that Google Play Store had removed some other apps from the platform along with Paytm. Google had accused Paytm of gambling. However, this app returned to the Google Play Store within 24 hours after Paytm protested. In view of this, the demand for bringing homegrown play store has increased.
