Tech786: The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini battery capacity has been revealed through a certification shared by Brazilian telecom regulator Anatel. The new revelation comes amid the rollout of the iPhone 12 series in global markets. Documents obtained from Anatel also indicated that the iPhone 12 Pro would be produced at Foxconn facilities in Brazil and India in addition to China. Apple has already used Foxconn units in both countries to manufacture smartphones including the iPhone 11.
What Revealed by Anatel about iPhone 12 Series?
According to a report by Technoblog, Anatel has certified the iPhone 12 Mini in the country with a 2,227mAh battery. It is larger in capacity than the iPhone SE (2020) which packs a 1,821mAh battery. The blog also states that the iPhone 12 is certified with a 2,815mAh battery, which is lower than the 3,110mAh battery available on the iPhone 11. Apple does not reveal its iPhone model’s battery capacity as common practice.
However, the official listing on the Apple site suggests that the iPhone 12 Mini can offer up to 15 hours of video playback on a single charge. This is a few hours less than the 17 hours of video playback claimed for the iPhone 11. However, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are rated with a video playback time of 17 hours.
The battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max is still unknown. However, it may emerge sometime around the availability of the iPhone 12 Pro as well as the iPhone 12 – set for October 23 in the US and other early markets.
The iPhone 12 Pro certification details sour from Anatel show that it will be manufactured at Foxconn factories in Brazil and India with its production center in China. In August, a report by the English daily Business Standard claimed that the iPhone 12 would be manufactured in a Wistron facility by 2021 in India.
